Minnesota Reading Corps—the nation’s largest state
AmeriCorps program—is looking to place one K-3 Literacy Tutor at
Folwell Elementary. Literacy Tutors are trained in
research-based strategies to help children who are falling behind get back on
track to read by the end of third grade. Tutors provide one-on-one
instruction to students in Kindergarten through 3rd Grade.
Literacy Tutors commit to 11 months of full-time or
part-time service, building their career experience and networks, all while
making a real impact on kids. As a tutor, you’ll earn a living allowance of
approximately $500 biweekly (for full-time) / $250
biweekly (for part-time) and an education award of $5,645 (for
full-time) /$2,822 (for part-time) to further your own
education or pay off student loans.
Whether you’re looking to build career skills or simply help
children in our community, we hope you’ll join us this August for a year of
growth. For more information click here or go to www.MinnesotaReadingCorps.org More
