Bingo Night

Join Folwell families and friends for one of our favorite traditions.

  • Thursday, November 6th
  • Pizza starts at 5:30pm
  • First bingo numbers called at 6:15pm.  Will go until approximately 7:15pm or until all of the prizes are gone.
  • Bingo is free! Pizza dinner is $4 and includes pizza, cookie and a drink.

We need prizes!  Parents - please donate new or clean and gently used toys/books/games. A drop off box is located near the Folwell front office starting Wednesday.  Thank you for your generosity!

Tickets will be sold at the door, but if you would like to prepay or wish to help out at bingo night, please complete the form below and send it along with payment to your child’s teacher.

Support the Folwell PTSA by also shopping at the book fair or purchasing scrip and spirit wear that evening.   Scrip proceeds go towards funding a portion of the 5th grade Eagle Bluff trip.

Fall Cleanup

  • Please come out & help Folwell's Learning Garden and grounds continue to look wonderful! Volunteers of all ages can help us spread mulch, weed and do other yard maintenance work at Folwell. Come for 1, 2 or 3 hours ~ The whole family is welcome!
  • Sturdy, weather appropriate clothes and work gloves will make your efforts more comfortable.
  • If you have tools you can bring that's great, if not come and we'll have them for you and your family!
    • Tools that would be helpful if you can bring them:
    • Garden rakes and shovels (for moving mulch)
    • Old newspaper (to spread below the mulch to help prevent weeds)
    •  Trimming clippers
    •  Wheelbarrow

Running Club

Fall Running Club has come to an end.  We had a great 5 weeks, missing only 5 days due to weather.  Overall the weather really cooperated and we were able to spend most of our mornings running on the playground.

We averaged about 90 students outside running or walking each morning.  I have so enjoyed getting to know many of our new younger students as well as welcoming back many of our running club regulars.  We have had five gift card winners this fall, earning gift cards for attending running club every day of the week.  Congratulations!

Thank you to all the volunteers who joined me in the mornings to check students in, keep them safe, and encourage them to keep moving.  Your time is valuable and I am so appreciative that you chose to give some of it to running club.  Running Club can’t happen without your support.  I’d like to give a special thank you to Marie Lindloff for organizing volunteers and communicating needs and schedule changes so promptly and effectively.

Running Club will be back this spring!  Look for registration forms after Spring Break.  We will begin on Monday, April 20, 2015 training for the Med City  Kids Marathon the weekend of May 23/24.  Look for daily 5$ gift card drawings and weekly 25$ gift card drawings as incentive.

I hope everyone has a great fall and winter.  Stay warm and keep moving!  See you in April.
