Spring Carnival - Next Week!

Friday, May 6th, 5:30-8 pm!

A few things to know:
o Parking can be tricky; take the trolley! Continuous loops circulating from the Edison building and Folwell Drive starting at 5 pm and running until 9. You can park at Edison OR flag the trolley from the right side of the road in either direction.
o We continue to NEED VOLUNTEERS! The early bird gets the worm (you KNOW you want to face-paint!). This is a fun, easy way to get involved. Shifts are just 45 minutes!
o Sign up through VOLUNTEERSPOT or email folwellvie@gmail.com.
o We've got great food vendors: Twisted Barrel wood fired pizza AND Just Rite Foods. Local vendors with meals from $3.50-10.00, and treats too!
o Usborne Book Fair! 50% of sales will be donated in free books for the school! This is a great opportunity for our library. Teacher wish lists available - treat your child's class to a book! The book fair will run Friday April 29-Friday May 6th, and be at the carnival.
o Raffle Baskets! Don't forget to donate *NEW* toys to the green bins in your child's classroom for the raffle! Donations due Monday, May 1st. Let the kids twist your arm in the toy aisle!

We've got some great things planned including:
o Live music from Pure Rock Studios     Face Painting
o Climbing wall from Prairie Walls          Petting Zoo from Hasse Family Farms
o Inflatables from Jolly Jumpz                Trolley Rides
o Mayo Soccer Stars                              Light Sabers
o Dance Party                                         FUN, FUN, FUN

We can't WAIT to see you there!
Thanks, as always, for all your help in making this a great family event.

Learning Garden

Parents,
The Folwell Learning Garden needs your help! If you know something (even just a little) about gardening and are willing to help the Learning Garden Committee would love to hear from you. We need volunteers to connect with classes, help in the garden, help set goals, get seeds and many other tasks. For the last few years the garden has reached every classroom and student at Folwell and has been watered completely by volunteer families in the summer. We're on a good course but need a few more hands to keep our gardens growing and getting students involved.

If you're interested in helping please contact, Learning Garden Committee Chair, Angela Gupta, angelasgupta@gmail.com

Thanks for considering this great opportunity!

Running Club

We had a beautiful sunny morning for our first day of spring Running Club.  Just a reminder that Running Club will occur rain or shine.  If it is raining or the playground is too wet from earlier rain, we will meet in the gym for some "Morning Movers" type activities.  If no one is on the playground, please enter the building through door 2 and head directly to the gym.

Folwell Carnival May 6th ~ this is the largest event that the Folwell PTSA sponsors every year & is a great time to celebrate the year & have fun together as a Folwell family! Our committee (headed up by Mary McKie & Ursula Miller) has been hard at work planning some fun activities but it truly takes a village of volunteers to make this night run. We have made the volunteer shifts shorter in an effort to allow you plenty of time to enjoy the carnival as well with your family. You are always welcome to sign up for multiple shifts too if you would like.

Original Works

Your child’s original artwork will be coming home this week. Take this opportunity to use their masterpieces for Father’s Day gifts, summer gear or just a great way to remember this fabulous year at Folwell.

If your child did not create artwork at school or would like to submit a different piece, just make sure that it is done in crayon, color pencil or water color paint on an 8 1/2 x 11 sheet of white paper. There are extra packets in the office for your convenience. Please be sure to return the artwork labeled on the back with your child’s name, grade and teacher’s name, along with a check and order form in the bag.  All artwork and payment must be returned no later than Tuesday, April 19th.

If you have any questions please contact Valerie Presa at pvpresa@live.com

Thank you!
