Opportunities for assistance





Project Community Connect will be held Friday, Jan. 27, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Mayo High School. Open to all families, parents and kids can get a free haircut, flu shot, HIV testing, and lunch. Participants can also meet with staff from various community organizations and government offices to find out how to access free or low cost help with legal services, employment assistance, taxes, health insurance, and more. Take the city bus to/from Mayo High School for free when you let the driver know you are going to Project Community Connect. Three Rivers Community Action’s Energy Assistance Program (EAP) provides help to families who need help with heat/energy bills.  Participants who qualify for the program must be wage earners, self-employed, seniors, veterans and/or income eligible households.  Participants must live in Goodhue, Rice, Olmsted or Wabasha Counties to apply. Home owners, renters who pay heating/utility costs and renters with heat included in rent may apply to EAP. An application to this program may be requested at (507) 732-8554 or 800-277-8418.
