Grades 2 and 4
|
· Families of new-to-district second and fourth
graders should contact their gifted specialist if they wish to have their child
assessed for gifted services.
· October 3: Elementary Parent Informational Meeting
6:30 – 8:00 PM. Kellogg Auditorium
· January 29 –
March 2, 2018: CogAT administered to
all grade 2 and 4 students.
· Week of March
26, 2018: Students notified of
qualification for gifted services for following year. Students who qualify for gifted services
will begin classes in Fall 2018.
· April 18, 2018: Last day for Grade 2 and 4 students who did
not qualify on the CogAT to request portfolio to qualify for gifted services
for the 2018-19 academic year
· April 19 – May
10, 2018: Portfolios completed at
school under supervision of gifted specialists
· Week of May 14,
2018: Portfolios evaluated by a panel of gifted specialists
· Week of May 29,
2018: Portfolio
qualification/non-qualification results communicated to families.

Middle School Program. 6:30 – 8:00 at
Friedell Middle School
· Week of December
4, 2017: Highly Gifted portfolios
evaluated by a panel of gifted specialists
· Week of December
11, 2017: All portfolio
qualification/non-qualification results communicated to families. Students who qualify for the Highly Gifted
Middle School Program will be emailed an application.
· December 2017: Students self-select middle school math
courses for Grade 6 or Pre-Algebra (Single accelerated)
· January 16, 2018: Applications for Highly Gifted Middle
School Program are due
· January 18, 2018: Middle school and RAMP meeting for parents
and staff 6:30-8:00 PM in the Kellogg Middle School auditorium
· Week of January
29th, 2018: Families
notified of status for Highly Gifted Middle School Program

Week of May 7, 2018:
Families are notified of Linear Algebra (Double Accelerated) middle
school math placement by email
