Track and Field Day Volunteers

Hello Folwell Families!

Track and Field Day for our 3rd-5th graders is on Monday, June 4.

Please consider joining us for this uplifting day, where our kids SOAR.  It is so fun to see students put out their best effort during track and field events, and support each other with true and inspiring sportsmanship.

We need volunteers to help with:
Timing for track events and relay races
Measuring for field events

No track and field experience required.

To sign up, please visit the Folwell Blog site at www.folwell.info and "Click to Volunteer."  Please don't hesitate to let me know if you have questions or need assistance getting signed up.

As a reminder, all voluteers need to have completed the district volunteer application.  http://www.rochester.k12.mn.us/departments/family_and_community_engagement/volunteers_in_education__vie_

Thank You!

Our Folwell fifth graders want to thank all of you for your support.  By attending events like our basketball game, shopping at our used book sale, and turning in box tops and gift card orders, Folwell families have helped us raise nearly $6,000!

At the end of May, our fifth grade students will be taking an unforgettable three day trip to Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center in Lanesboro, MN.  Students look forward to this trip for years and it lives up to the hype each year.  Our Folwell fifth graders will take several classes while at Eagle Bluff, but will also celebrate the closing of the Folwell chapters of their educational journeys.

Thank you Folwell families for significantly reducing the cost of this trip for all of our fifth graders!

Camp Kesem - FREE

Please check out the information about Camp Kesem.  Former Folwell student, Makenzi Tijerina, works at the camp and reached out to Folwell about openings that are available in July.

What? Camp Kesem. This overnight camp offers traditional overnight camp activities, including: hiking, biking, swimming.

Who? Kids whose parents have or have had cancer

When? July 1st – July 7th 2018

Where? Held at Rainbow Day Camp in Fredonia, WI.

How much? FREE!! Counselors raise $500 to cover the cost of attending camp. At this point, families do have to arrange their student’s transportation to and from camp – though the camp is working on possible alternatives.

Why? Because no one should have to go through their parent’s cancer alone

a message of gratitude...

A special thank you to our Folwell PTSA!  It was a wonderful carnival!  I swell with pride when I am standing at the edge of the crowd and I see our students and families spending time together, enjoying our school!  Thank you for all of your hard work in planning, preparing, communicating and organizing our carnival and all of our events throughout the year!

A special thank you to our volunteers!  You have all done so much for us this year, from cleaning up the landscaping, to making sure our students are getting exercise, to popping popcorn to incentivize box tops!  We sincerely appreciate all of the efforts - those seen and unseen!

A special thank you to all of our families for supporting our events, with your time, talents and financial contributions.  Great things happen for our students when we are all working together!

Thank you for being a part of our Folwell Community!
