Mid-Year Registration Google Form

Hello, Folwell Families!

Welcome back! We hope that you had a safe and healthy winter break!  We’re so excited to have our students back today in Distance Learning today!

As was communicated prior to winter break, a proposed plan to changes in the elementary learning model will be brought to the school board tomorrow night (Tuesday, January 5).  It is important to note that you will see different grade levels returning at different times.  This comes from the recent announcement about elementary schools opening back up from Governor Walz.

Here is the proposed plan:

January 14-15

No School/No distance learning for all elementary students

(Teacher planning days for future Full In-person Learning model change)

January 18

Martin Luther King, Jr. Day – no school districtwide

Note: this is the earliest elementary return date allowed by the Governor’s announcements

January 19-29

·       Grades K-2 return to the Hybrid learning model and students will follow their previous Group 1, Group 2 schedules (dismissal time is 2:25, 2:30, 2:35 as it was previously)

·       Grades 3-5 will remain in Distance Learning

·       All students in Mrs. French, Mrs. Lutes and Mr. Ketchum return to 4-day a week schedule

·       Limited SACC begins for K-2 students on their in-person hybrid days; no SACC on Wednesday

·       There is no school for all students on Friday, January 22—this is a previously scheduled staff development day

February 1-12

·       Grades 3-5 return to the Hybrid learning model (2:25, 2:30, 2:35 dismissal time)

·       Grades K-2 continue in Hybrid learning model

·       Limited SACC for K-5 students on their in-person hybrid days; no SACC on Wednesdays

February 15

District Professional Development Day – no school districtwide

February 16-26

·       Grades K-2 move to a Full In-Person learning model (2:25, 2:30, 2:35 dismissal time remains)

·       Grades 3-5 remain in Hybrid learning model

·       All students in Mrs. French, Mrs. Lutes and Mr. Ketchum move to 5-day a week schedule

·       Limited SACC for K-2 students each day and for 3-5 on their in-person hybrid days

March 1

·       Grades 3-5 move to a Full In-Person learning model

·       Grades K-2 continue in Full In-Person learning model

·       Dismissal time moves to 3:35 p.m.

·       Limited SACC for K-5 students

When we transition from Distance Learning to the Hybrid Model, we will assume those who previously participated in the hybrid model will opt to return to hybrid model and those who opted in to Distance Learning will remain in that learning model unless you contact your school office to request a change. Students in kindergarten through second grade will transition from hybrid to full, In Person Learning Model on February 16.  Students in third-fifth grade will transition from hybrid to full, In Person Learning Model on March 1.

Please call us with questions at 328-3220, email the principal, wemoritz@rochesterschools.org, or call me directly at 328-3224.  We will respond when school resumes the week of January 4, 2021.

There will also be question and answer sessions for families regarding the plan changes when we return from winter break.  These will be held via Google Meet.  Use Falconfamilies as the nickname for the Google Meet.

Monday, January 4th at 4:00 p.m.

Tuesday, January 5th at noon

Tuesday, January 5th at 7:00 p.m.

In order to help us prepare a full In-Person Learning Model, we are asking all families to complete the Google form, that is linked below, for each student that you have at Folwell, by the end of the school day on Wednesday, January 6.
