Book Sale Update!

By popular request, the Folwell Used Book Sale will open during Friday’s Wellness Night!  

We invite you to stop by and find some great bargains on gently used books and DVDs!  Books are $1, with some high-quality specialty items ranging from $2 - $5. Nothing is priced over $5. Of course, since it’s a Folwell fundraiser, shoppers are always welcome to make a donation!

Throughout next week, students will have an opportunity to purchase books before and after school and during lunch. If students are interested in purchasing books on their own, it might be helpful to send just a moderate amount of money in a baggie labeled with the child’s name. Shopping at the Used Book Sale is an ideal, low-risk opportunity in which children can practice shopping independently.

We will also be grateful for continued donations of books. If you are ready to clean off your bookshelves, feel free to send in books for readers of all ages!

Snuggle Up and Read

Join us for Snuggle Up and Read night at FOLWELL this Thursday, February 19th from 6:30-7:30.  There will be 5 book themes to choose from, each in a different classroom.  There will be the following “themes” this year: Animals, Camping/outdoors, Art, Fairy Tales and Winter.  Rotations will occur every 15 minutes, for a total of 3 rotations.   At 7:15 there will be milk and cookies in the Folwell foyer.  Folwell Alumni and our Americorps teacher will be reading this year!

 

If you’d like, wear jammies and bring a blanket/pillow.

Picture Day is Tuesday, February 24.
Flyers have been delivered to the school and should be coming home with your child. Select your favorite background and return on Picture Day.
Make Picture Day easy with these tips from Lifetouch School Portraits:
• Choose clothing with solid colors or simple patterns.
• Avoid clothing with slogans and logos.
• Long-sleeved shirts are best.

Science Fair

Have you signed up for the science fair yet? It is not too late. If  you need an extra sign-up sheet click here or e-mail Mariam at mariyamshafiz76@hotmail.com.

The science fair is a great opportunity for all students to study a topic of their interest and show their peers what they have discovered. The science fair will be held here at school during the day on February 26th.
