Food drives are an excellent way to
educate others about hunger in our community.
Almost half of the people who benefit from the food supplied by the food
shelf are children and usage of the food shelf in Olmsted County has grown 100%
in the last 10 years alone!
Our food drive has been extended to this coming Monday, March 23rd!!.
Donations
are especially needed in the following categories:
Rice and pasta
|
Baking needs
(oil, sugar, flour)
|
Canned or boxed
main dishes
|
Peanut butter
|
Canned soup
|
Juice
|
Canned fruit
|
Canned meat
|
We are very close to our goal of:
1,500 total items!
Students are asked to bring donations to
their classroom each morning where they will be collected and counted by
Student Council members.
If you have any questions about this
year’s food drive, please contact
Sarah Nelson, Student Council advisor, at sanelson@rochester.k12.mn.us.
